Volunteer Activities

Sadly all volunteer activities on Wellington City Council land has to be put on hold at present. Unfortunately, ceasing all volunteering includes: watering, weeding, gardening or any site maintenance at our community garden and nursery. This is disappointing but understandable at a time when we have to put the health and wellbeing

Neighbours Day and Local Food Week Event

We have a very lovely Neighbours Day and Local Food Week Event at Jay St Garden on Sunday 20th March 2016 (2pm to 4pm). We had about 30 people come along! Great to meet some new people and show them our lovely garden.   All our welcome to our regular workings bees,

Working Bee – Sunday 2pm to 4pm

Our regular working bees are currently on  Sunday from 2pm to 4pm. If it is raining the working bee will be cancelled. During Summer we normally also meet at the garden on Wednesdays 6.30pm to 8pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in. It is a pretty relaxed afternoon/evening

One Year Anniversary

On December the 10th it will be one year since our first working bee! It is amazing to think the garden has been around for almost a year, and that before the garden, there was a large grass field with lots of dock growing in it! There is still some dock

Fruit Trees at Lyndfield Lane Park

On Sunday 17th June we helped plant fruit trees at Lyndfield Lane Park. Six large feijoa were planted in between the olive tress that were planted last year.  Five walnut trees were planted on the bank and we mulched around all the trees. It was great to get the fruits trees

Working bees Tuesday nights
